The smallest of Australia’s state capitals, Darwin has nevertheless become an attractive and important urban center, being simultaneously one of the country’s most modernized cities and a gateway to both the Top End region and South East Asia.
Adelaide River War Cemetery and The Old Town Hall will appeal to history buffs. Get outdoors at Mindil Beach and Fogg Dam Conservation Reserve. Explore Darwin's surroundings by going to Territory Wildlife Park (in Berry Springs), Litchfield National Park (Wangi Falls, Florence Falls, & more) and Litchfield National Park (in Batchelor). Plan for a day of cool, family-friendly fun on the 27th (Wed) at Darwin Waterfront. On the 1st (Fri), explore the striking landscape at Nanguluwur Art Site, identify plant and animal life at Anbangbang Billabong, and then steep yourself in history at Nourlangie Rock. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 2nd (Sat): identify plant and animal life at Cahills Crossing, then look for all kinds of wild species at Mamukala Billabong, and then don't miss a visit to Bardedjilidji Walk.
