Colac is a small city in the Western District of Victoria, Australia, approximately 150 kilometres south-west of Melbourne on the southern shore of Lake Colac and the surrounding volcanic plains, approximately 40km inland from Bass Strait. Get out of town with these interesting Colac side-trips: Lorne (Qdos Arts Gallery, Teddy's Lookout, & more), Cape Otway Lightstation (in Cape Otway) and Castle Cove (in Glenaire). Spend the 2nd (Tue) exploring nature at Point Nepean National Park. Spend the 6th (Sat) exploring nature at Melba Gully National Park. Next up on the itinerary: take in nature's colorful creations at Colac Botanic Gardens, walk around Memorial Square, visit a coastal fixture at Split Point Lighthouse, and identify plant and animal life at Kennet River Koala Walk.

For where to stay, ratings, maps, and more tourist information, refer to the Colac tour planning tool .

In June, plan for daily highs up to 16°C, and evening lows to 6°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 31st (Wed) early enough to travel back home.
