The smallest of Australia’s state capitals, Darwin has nevertheless become an attractive and important urban center, being simultaneously one of the country’s most modernized cities and a gateway to both the Top End region and South East Asia.
You'll discover tucked-away gems like Litchfield National Park and RFDS Darwin Tourist Facility. Change things up with these side-trips from Darwin: Litchfield National Park (Buley Rockhole, Magnetic Termite Mounds, & more), Territory Wildlife Park (in Berry Springs) and Fogg Dam Conservation Reserve (in Humpty Doo).
