Lancefield is a town in the Shire of Macedon Ranges local government area in Victoria, Australia 73km north of the state capital, Melbourne and had a population of 2,357 at the 2011 census.HistoryThe area was used by the indigenous aboriginal people as a quarry site for the manufacture of stone axes and was first settled by European squatters in 1837. On the 20th (Mon), learn about winemaking at Curly Flat, look for all kinds of wild species at Hanging Rock Reserve, and then browse the eclectic array of goods at A Market at Hanging Rock.
