Founded as a military outpost in 1826, Albany is the oldest town in Western Australia, just barely gaining this title by being settled two years earlier than Fremantle and Perth.
Satisfy your inner culture vulture at Rising Star Winery and The Church of Saint John the Evangelist. Step out of the city life by going to Cheynes Beach and Middleton Beach. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Albany: Cosy Corner Beach (in Kronkup), Lowlands Beach (in Lowlands) and Denmark (Ocean Beach, Anvil Beach, & more).
