Your itinerary includes some good beach time at Bondi Beach and Redhead Beach. Escape the urban bustle at Jenolan Caves and Werri Beach. Venture out of the city with trips to Featherdale Wildlife Park (in Blacktown), Wollongong (North Wollongong Beach, Port Kembla Beach, & more) and Shelly Beach (in Manly). A neat, cosmopolitan city of shaded plazas and laid-back neighborhoods, Cairns serves as a popular base for exploration of the surrounding region and the Great Barrier Reef, as well as a center for watersport activities like surfing or waterskiing.
You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Trinity Beach and Wildlife Habitat Port Douglas. Take a break from the city and head to Palm Cove Beach and Daintree National Park. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Cairns: Mulgrave Settlers Museum (in Gordonvale), Port Douglas (Ngarru Gallery, Opal Reef, & more) and Paronella Park (in Mena Creek). Spend the 28th (Sun) among aquatic life with a scuba or snorkeling tour. Spend the 2nd (Thu) wandering through the wild on a nature and wildlife tour.
