The smallest of Australia’s state capitals, Darwin has nevertheless become an attractive and important urban center, being simultaneously one of the country’s most modernized cities and a gateway to both the Top End region and South East Asia.
East Point Military Museum and Outstation Gallery - Aboriginal Art from Art Centres will appeal to museum buffs. Popular historic sites such as Adelaide River War Cemetery and Survivors’ Lookout are in your itinerary. Venture out of the city with trips to Adelaide River (Robin Falls, Adelaide River Railway Museum, & more), Dundee Explorer (in Dundee Beach) and Litchfield National Park (Helicopter Tours, Tolmer Falls, & more). Spend the 19th (Fri) exploring nature at Litchfield National Park. Spend the 24th (Wed) on the water with a fishing tour. There's lots more to do: look for all kinds of wild species at Fogg Dam Conservation Reserve, explore and take pictures at Hidden Valley Motor Sports Complex, hit the best photo ops around with an inspiring photography tour, and take an exotic tour of a safari tour.
