Fly from Cairns to Gold Coast in 4.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of flight and train; or drive. In September, Gold Coast is a bit cooler than Cairns - with highs of 27°C and lows of 15°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 18th (Thu) so you can go by car to Brisbane.
