Settled by colonists and convicts in 1829, Fremantle has transformed its infamous historical buildings into cultural centers.
Start off your visit on the 20th (Mon): enjoy the sand and surf at Cottesloe Beach, then contemplate the long history of Fremantle Prison, and then see the interesting displays at The Shipwreck Galleries. On your second day here, take a memorable tour with Tours, make a trip to Monument Hill War Memorial, and then examine the collection at Western Australian Maritime Museum.

Sydney to Fremantle is an approximately 8.5-hour flight. You can also drive; or do a combination of bus and train. The time zone changes from Australian Eastern Standard Time (New South Wales) (AEST) to Australian Western Standard Time (AWST), which is usually a -2 hour difference.
