Snaking up the side of a rounded, tree-dotted hill, Hobart sits between Tasmania’s sprawling mountains and the vast estuary of the River Derwent.
Kick off your visit on the 27th (Sat): identify plant and animal life at Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary, look for gifts at The Wicked Cheese Co., and then awaken your taste buds at some of the top wineries in the area.

Overlooking one of Tasmania's most scenic strips of coastline and serving as the gateway to Freycinet National Park, Coles Bay is home to just 500 permanent residents.
Start off your visit on the 28th (Sun): do a tasting at Devil's Corner Cellar Door, get up close to creatures of the deep with a dolphin and whale watching tour, and then take some stellar pictures from Wineglass Bay Lookout. Keep things going the next day: enjoy the sea views from Cape Tourville Lighthouse, then kick back and relax at Friendly Beaches, and then don't miss a visit to Bicheno Blowhole.
