Snaking up the side of a rounded, tree-dotted hill, Hobart sits between Tasmania’s sprawling mountains and the vast estuary of the River Derwent.
On the 2nd (Fri), take in the spiritual surroundings of St John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church and then look for all kinds of wild species at Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary. Keep things going the next day: steep yourself in history at Cascades Female Factory Historic Site, then take in the spiritual surroundings of St. David's Cathedral, and then stroll through Seven Mile Beach.

Melbourne to Hobart is an approximately 4.5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of ferry and car; or do a combination of ferry and bus.
