Set against the stark but scenic coastline of the Bass Strait--the body of water separating Victoria and Tasmania--Torquay is a prime location for surfing and beach life in general.

Change things up with these side-trips from Torquay: Barwon Heads Village Park (in Barwon Heads), Point Lonsdale Lighthouse (in Point Lonsdale) and Clifton Springs Golf Club (in Clifton Hill). On the 8th (Wed), take a memorable drive along Winter Hill Lookout, then don't miss a visit to The Old Mill, then learn about winemaking at Dellacolline Winery, and finally stroll through Fishery Bay.
