Founded as a military outpost in 1826, Albany is the oldest town in Western Australia, just barely gaining this title by being settled two years earlier than Fremantle and Perth.
National Anzac Centre and Plantagenet Wines are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Explore Albany's surroundings by going to Cheynes Beach (in Waychinicup National Park), Denmark (The Toffee Factory, Jassi Leather Works, & more) and Stirling Range National Park (Mt Talyuberlup, Mt Magog, & more). Spend the 1st (Sun) observing fascinating marine mammals with a dolphin and whale watching tour. Spend the 14th (Sat) exploring nature at West Cape Howe National Park. Next up on the itinerary: enjoy the sand and surf at Little Beach, hike along Tree Top Walk, stroll through Mandalay Beach, and examine the collection at Albany's Historic Whaling Station.

Expect a daytime high around 20°C in June, and nighttime lows around 8°C. You'll set off for home on the 27th (Mon).
