A lush headland that's part of the forested Daintree Region, Cape Tribulation was so named by Lieutenant--later Captain--Cook in 1770, when his ship ran aground in the area.
Cape Trib Exotic Fruit Farm has been added to your itinerary. Give yourself a bit of retail therapy at Floravilla Ice Cream Factory and Village Gallery. Relax by the water at Trinity Beach and Palm Cove Beach. Get out of town with these interesting Cape Tribulation side-trips: Daintree Discovery Centre (in Cow Bay), Hartley's Crocodile Adventures (in Palm Cove) and Kuranda (Australian Butterfly Sanctuary & Doongul Aboriginal Art Gallery). Spend the 28th (Fri) exploring nature at Daintree National Park. There's still lots to do: identify plant and animal life at Daintree Rainforest - Cooper Creek Wilderness, kick back and relax at Thornton Beach, enjoy the sea views from Grassy Hill, and steep yourself in history at Cooktown History Centre.

For other places to visit, maps, photos, and more tourist information, refer to the Cape Tribulation trip planner .

December in Cape Tribulation sees daily highs of 36°C and lows of 26°C at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 31st (Mon) so you can travel back home.
