Snaking up the side of a rounded, tree-dotted hill, Hobart sits between Tasmania’s sprawling mountains and the vast estuary of the River Derwent.
Start off your visit on the 12th (Tue): kick back and relax at Opossum Bay Beach.

Brisbane to Hobart is an approximately 5.5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of bus and flight; or do a combination of car and ferry. Traveling from Brisbane in February, things will get a bit cooler in Hobart: highs are around 26°C and lows about 14°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 13th (Wed) so you can go by car to Coles Bay.

Overlooking one of Tasmania's most scenic strips of coastline and serving as the gateway to Freycinet National Park, Coles Bay is home to just 500 permanent residents.
On the 14th (Thu), learn about winemaking at Devil's Corner Cellar Door, kick back and relax at Wineglass Bay, then visit a coastal fixture at Cape Tourville Lighthouse, and finally tour the pleasant surroundings at Wineglass Bay Lookout.

Traveling by car from Hobart to Coles Bay takes 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of bus and taxi. Finish your sightseeing early on the 14th (Thu) to allow enough time to travel to George Town.

George Town is a large town in north-east Tasmania, on the eastern bank of the mouth of the Tamar River. Start off your visit on the 15th (Fri): learn about winemaking at Moores Hill Estate, look for gifts at Goaty Hill Wines, do a tasting at Iron Pot Bay Vineyard, then do a tasting at Holm Oak Vineyards, and finally see the interesting displays at Bass & Flinders Centre.
