Snaking up the side of a rounded, tree-dotted hill, Hobart sits between Tasmania’s sprawling mountains and the vast estuary of the River Derwent.
Start off your visit on the 22nd (Fri): view the masterpieces at Henry Jones Design Gallery, kick back and relax at Seven Mile Beach, and then admire the striking features of St John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church. Here are some ideas for day two: get engrossed in the history at Eaglehawk Neck Historic Site and then explore the galleries of Port Arthur Historic Site.
