Tucked away on a beautiful inlet in far-east Gippsland is Mallacoota, a popular year-round coastal destination that enjoys Victoria's warmest winter temperatures and cool ocean breezes in summer, with the bonus of its proximity to the magnificent Croajingolong National Park.
You'll get in some beach time at Ben Boyd National Park and Salmon Rocks. Take a break from the city and head to Genoa Peak Walk and Mallacoota Coastal Walks. Get out of town with these interesting Mallacoota side-trips: Bombala (Bombala Railway Station & River Walk), Cape Conran Nature Trail (in Cape Conran) and Yeerung Gorge (in Marlo). Spend the 12th (Fri) exploring nature at Croajingolong National Park. There's lots more to do: learn about all things military at WW11 Bunker Museum, get lost in a book at Mallacoota Information Centre, visit a coastal fixture at Gabo Island Lighthouse, and head outdoors with Mallacoota Wilderness Houseboats.

To see ratings, other places to visit, more things to do, and more tourist information, you can read our Mallacoota journey planner .

In April, plan for daily highs up to 25°C, and evening lows to 13°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 13th (Sat) so you can travel back home.
