Kick off your visit on the 30th (Sun): play a few rounds at Surfers Paradise Golf Club and then stroll through Burleigh Heads Beach. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 1st (Mon): kick back and relax at Kirra Beach, kick back and relax at Coolangatta Beach, and then identify plant and animal life at Burleigh Head National Park.

Wellington, New Zealand to Gold Coast is an approximately 7-hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight and train. The time zone changes from New Zealand Standard Time to Australian Eastern Standard Time (Queensland), which is usually a -2 hour difference. Expect somewhat warmer temperatures when traveling from Wellington in June; daily highs in Gold Coast reach 24°C and lows reach 13°C. Longreach is a town in Central West Queensland, Australia approximately 700km from the coast, west of Rockhampton. Start off your visit on the 2nd (Tue): see the interesting displays at Australian Stockman's Hall of Fame and Outback Heritage Centre, examine the collection at QANTAS Founders Museum, and then get engrossed in the history at Ilfracombe Machinery & Heritage Museum.

Do a combination of train and flight from Gold Coast to Longreach in 5.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. When traveling from Gold Coast in July, plan for a bit warmer days and about the same nights in Longreach: temperatures range from 28°C by day to 10°C at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 2nd (Tue) to allow enough time to travel to Kuranda.
