Brisbane to Hobart is an approximately 6-hour flight. You can also do a combination of car and ferry; or do a combination of train, ferry, and bus. Expect slightly colder temperatures when traveling from Brisbane in December; daily highs in Hobart reach 24°C and lows reach 13°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 29th (Sat) early enough to drive to Port Arthur.

Traveling by car from Hobart to Port Arthur takes 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus. In December in Port Arthur, expect temperatures between 24°C during the day and 13°C at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 30th (Sun) so you can drive to Coles Bay.

Overlooking one of Tasmania's most scenic strips of coastline and serving as the gateway to Freycinet National Park, Coles Bay is home to just 500 permanent residents.
On the 31st (Mon), do a tasting at Craigie Knowe Vineyard, identify plant and animal life at Friendly Beaches, and then walk along Wineglass Bay Lookout. On the 1st (Tue), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: do a tasting at Gala Estate Vineyard, then let the kids burn off some steam at Melshell Oysters, then enjoy the sand and surf at Denison Beach, and finally kick back and relax at Honeymoon Bay.

Traveling by car from Port Arthur to Coles Bay takes 3.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 1st (Tue) so you can go by car to Launceston.

Start off your visit on the 2nd (Wed): explore the galleries of Design Centre Tasmania, then look for gifts at Goaty Hill Wines, then look for all kinds of wild species at Cataract Gorge Reserve, and finally get great views at Freelands Lookout. Keep things going the next day: steep yourself in history at Woolmers Estate, contemplate the long history of Entally Estate, then look for gifts at Gourlay's Sweet Shop, and finally appreciate the views at The Tamar Valley.
