Snaking up the side of a rounded, tree-dotted hill, Hobart sits between Tasmania’s sprawling mountains and the vast estuary of the River Derwent.
On the 15th (Sat), indulge your thirst for a good beer at Cascade Brewery, then identify plant and animal life at Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary, then admire the landmark architecture of Richmond Gaol, and finally enjoy the sand and surf at Seven Mile Beach. On the next day, examine the collection at Mona, then contemplate the long history of Salamanca Arts Centre, then examine the collection at Mawson's Hut Replica Museum, and finally steep yourself in history at Constitution Dock.

Coles Bay

Overlooking one of Tasmania's most scenic strips of coastline and serving as the gateway to Freycinet National Park, Coles Bay is home to just 500 permanent residents.
Get a sense of the local culture at Devil's Corner Cellar Door and Gala Estate Vineyard. Discover out-of-the-way places like Nature & Wildlife Tours and Friendly Beaches. Step out of Coles Bay to go to Bicheno and see East Coast Natureworld, which is approximately 32 minutes away. Spend the 18th (Tue) exploring nature at Freycinet National Park. Next up on the itinerary: walk along Wineglass Bay Lookout and relax in the rural setting at Freycinet Marine Farm.
