Snaking up the side of a rounded, tree-dotted hill, Hobart sits between Tasmania’s sprawling mountains and the vast estuary of the River Derwent.
On the 19th (Tue), look for all kinds of wild species at Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary and then take a leisurely stroll along Constitution Dock. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: take in the spiritual surroundings of St. David's Cathedral, then take a stroll through Sullivans Cove, then learn about winemaking at Puddleduck Vineyard, and finally wander the streets of North Hobart.

Brisbane to Hobart is an approximately 5.5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of bus and flight; or do a combination of car and ferry. Overlooking one of Tasmania's most scenic strips of coastline and serving as the gateway to Freycinet National Park, Coles Bay is home to just 500 permanent residents.
Visit Spiky Beach Conservation Area and Raspins Beach for some beach relaxation. Visiting Melshell Oysters and Wineglass Bay will get you outdoors. When in Coles Bay, make a side trip to see Spring Vale Wines in Cranbrook, approximately 34 minutes away. Spend the 24th (Sun) exploring nature at Freycinet National Park. There's still lots to do: do a tasting at Devil's Corner Cellar Door, visit a coastal fixture at Cape Tourville Lighthouse, and walk along Wineglass Bay Lookout.
