Let the collections at Museum of Old and New Art and Mawson's Hut Replica Museum capture your imagination. Satisfy your inner culture vulture at Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery and Constitution Dock. Go for a jaunt from Hobart to Brighton to see Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary about 30 minutes away. There's lots more to do: steep yourself in history at Cascades Female Factory Historic Site, explore the world behind art at Lady Franklin Gallery, take in the awesome beauty at Mount Wellington, and go for a walk through Battery Point Sculpture Trail.

Sydney to Hobart is an approximately 4.5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of train, ferry, and bus; or do a combination of bus and ferry. Plan for a bit cooler temperatures traveling from Sydney in September, with highs in Hobart at 18°C and lows at 7°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 30th (Mon) early enough to drive to Port Arthur.
