Founded as a military outpost in 1826, Albany is the oldest town in Western Australia, just barely gaining this title by being settled two years earlier than Fremantle and Perth.
On the 5th (Mon), admire the landmark architecture of The Church of Saint John the Evangelist, then appreciate the history behind Desert Mounted Corps Memorial, then enjoy the sand and surf at Middleton Beach, and finally stroll through Little Beach.

A low-rise, laid-back town of approximately 4,500 inhabitants, Margaret River serves as an ideal local base to explore the surrounding wine region.
Step off the beaten path and head to Amaze'n Margaret River and Cape Grace Wines. Change things up with these side-trips from Margaret River: Canal Rocks (in Yallingup), Dolphin & Whale Watching (in Dunsborough) and Wine Tours & Tastings (in Busselton). There's still lots to do: look for all kinds of wild species at Sunflowers Animal Farm and cruise along Caves Road.
