A low-rise, laid-back town of approximately 4,500 inhabitants, Margaret River serves as an ideal local base to explore the surrounding wine region.
Escape the urban bustle at Surfers Point and Gnarabup Beach. You'll get in some beach time at Margaret River Mouth Beach and Cowaramup Bay. Venture out of the city with trips to Dunsborough (Meelup Beach & Dolphin & Whale Watching) and Yallingup (Yallingup Beach & Canal Rocks). The adventure continues: do a tasting at Providore, cruise along Caves Road, and look for all kinds of wild species at Sunflowers Animal Farm.

Albany

Founded as a military outpost in 1826, Albany is the oldest town in Western Australia, just barely gaining this title by being settled two years earlier than Fremantle and Perth.
Kick off your visit on the 7th (Sun): stroll through Middleton Beach, then kick back and relax at Little Beach, and then enjoy the sand and surf at Cable Beach. On your second day here, tour the pleasant surroundings at Greens Pool, learn about winemaking at Singlefile Wines, and then enjoy the sand and surf at Emu Point.

Traveling by car from Margaret River to Albany takes 4.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus; or do a combination of bus and flight. In October, daily temperatures in Albany can reach 68°F, while at night they dip to 48°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 8th (Mon) to allow time to drive to Esperance.

Esperance is a town in the Goldfields-Esperance region of Western Australia, on the Southern Ocean coastline approximately 720km east-southeast of the state capital, Perth. Your itinerary includes some good beach time at Lucky Bay and Blue Haven Beach. Discover out-of-the-way places like Thistle Cove and Salmon Beach. A relaxed town of tree-shaded streets and scenic coastal stretches, Broome gained renown as a center of the pearling industry in the late 19th century.
Start off your visit on the 12th (Fri): kick back and relax at Reddell Beach, then enjoy the sand and surf at Cable Beach, and then explore the different monuments and memorials at Japanese Cemetery. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: tour the pleasant surroundings at Roebuck Bay, then take in the architecture and atmosphere at Catholic Diocese of Broome, and then get outside with Staircase To The Moon.

You can fly from Esperance to Broome in 7 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of bus and flight; or drive. While traveling from Esperance, expect somewhat warmer days and much warmer nights in Broome, ranging from highs of 93°F to lows of 75°F. Wrap up your sightseeing by early afternoon on the 14th (Sun) to allow time for travel back home.
